Please click here for a fun and informative video. There are various, really easy ways to demonstrate Respect for Our AYSO Referees. Remember, referees are moms and dads, just like us, who volunteer so our kids can play and do not get paid. Greet referees with a smile before your child's game. Offer them a water or other drink - before the game, at halftime or after the game. Recognize they are trained referees and accept their decisions. Don't yell at them or ask questions during games. Thank them after the game. Offer them snack if you have left-overs. Encourage every player to thank the referees after each game. Be supportive of the referees in post game conversations with other parents and your child. Any other ideas to demonstrate respect? Please send them to our webmaster. |
